THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE INADVERTENTLY ACCELERATED AT A HIGH SPEED. THE VEHICLE THEN DECELERATED AND STALLED. THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: IGNITION

11/15/2017 - CLARKSVILLE, TN
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE LIGHTING BOLT SYMBOL ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT START. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (GARY MATTHEWS MOTORS, CLARKSVILLE, TN, 931-552-7100) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 119,000.

11/6/2017 - GLENDALE, AZ
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MOORE CHRYSLER JEEP IN PEORIA, ARIZONA 85382, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A PLUG BECAME DETACHED FROM THE FRONT ABS, WHICH CAUSED ALL OF THE BRAKE FLUID TO LEAK OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE HYDRAULIC PUMP WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.

TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, A VEHICLE ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN AND CRASHED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE CRASH PUSHED THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE INTO A NEARBY LANE AND THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE SLIGHTLY DETACHED. THE VEHICLE'S FRONT END WAS DAMAGED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND DEEMED TOTALED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED INJURIES TO THE HEAD AND CHEST AREAS, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT RECENTLY VERIFIED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V313000 (AIR BAGS) AND 16V352000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO RECEIVE THE REPAIR. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.

THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND STARTED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE WITH A WATER HOSE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND CONTINUED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE FIRE DETECTOR DETERMINED THAT SOMETHING WAS ON, WHICH CAUSED THE FIRE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL THE INSURANCE COMPANY. I RECEIVED SECOND RECALL NOTICE IN THE WINTER. THEY SAID THEY STILL DON'T HAVE THE PARTS TO DO THE RECALL. I'M STILL WAITING FOR THEM TO CONTACT ME.
