POWER TRAIN | 5/21/2013 - CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD WHEN SHIFTING INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE, THERE IS A NOTICABLE DELAY IN RESPONDING SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR IN SEPT. 2011. I PURCHASED THE CAR WITH 67,000 MILES, AND NOW HAS 83,000 MILES. THERE IS ALSO A DANGEROUS PAUSE/DELAY THAT OCCURS WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, ESPECIALLY IN TRAFFIC. ONCE THE TRANSMISSION CATCH, IT MAKES THE CAR LUNGE IN EITHER TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT DEPENDING ON DIRECTION OF FRONT TIRES. I HAVE TAKEN CAR TO THE DEALER WHO INDICATED THE 300 HEMI DOES THAT WITH THE ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION BECAUSE OF THE POWER OF THE ENGINE AND NOTHING CAN BE DONE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE REPAIRED BY CHRYSLER AND NOT THE OWNER.

POWER TRAIN | 5/21/2013 - LITTLE ROCK, AR TL-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION AND THE GEAR LEVER WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE CONSOLE PANEL WAS REMOVED IN ORDER TO ENGAGE THE EMERGENCY MECHANISM LOCATED UNDERNEATH THE GEAR SHIFT INTERLOCK LEVER. THE TEMPORARY FIX ALLOWED THE GEAR LEVER TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK; HOWEVER WHENEVER STATIONARY THE GEAR MUST BE PLACED IN THE NEUTRAL POSITION WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED. THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM UNDER REFERENCE NUMBER K39 RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED FOR THE REMEDY REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,970. JS

POWER TRAIN | 5/14/2013 - SMELLVILLE, GA THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO MOVE FROM PARK TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS ADVISED THAT THE SHIFT LEVEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

POWER TRAIN | 5/7/2013 - HASLET, TX THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION AND ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT THE GEAR LEVER HOWEVER, THE GEAR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE WHERE A CERTIFIED MECHANIC INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE SHIFT INTERLOCK WAS REPLACED. THERE WAS A VOLUNTARY RECALL ISSUED BY THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK LEVEL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.

SEAT BELTS | 4/21/2013 - PORT NECHES, TX MY PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT HAS GOTTEN STUCK NUMEROUS TIMES AND MY PASSENGERS INCLUDING MYSELF HAVE HAD TO CLIMB OUT. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT 2 -3 YRS NOW. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIPS ATTENTION AS WELL AS THE WARRANTY PERSONNEL. MY CAR IS COVERED BUMPER TO BUMPER BUT THEY TELL ME THIS IS NOT COVERED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL AS WORRISOME DUE TO I'M AFRAID TO LET PEOPLE RIDE WITH ME. I LITERALLY HAVE HAD TO CLIMB BACKWARDS WITH THE SEAT ALL THE WAY SUPINE AND CLIMB OUT BACK TO GET OUT. I'M NOT SURE IF THERE IS ANY RECOURSE I CAN TAKE FOR THIS ISSUE. THEY HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH MY BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES WHICH ALWAYS SEEM TO HAVE SOUND PROBLEMS AND ISSUES AND EVERYTIME I BRING UP THE SEATBELT ISSUE BUT GET NO WHERE. IF U CAN PLEASE ADVISE ME ON WHAT, IF ANYTHING CAN BE DONE. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT THAT CAUSED THIS BUT THIS FORM REQUIRED A DATE.

ENGINE | 4/16/2013 - ORLANDO, FL THE CAR INVOLVED IS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT & FRONT END BEGAN TO SHAKE , I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT & SHUT CAR OFF . I GOT OUT AND SEEN ANTI-FREEZE COMING OUT. MY MECHANIC PICKED THE CAR UP AND SAID THE ENGINE COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY SEPARATED & THE FAN BLADES BROKE OFF & WENT THROUGH MY RADIATOR AND ALSO CAUSED ENGINE ISSUES . AFTER I PICKED IT UP , I BEGAN RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM . I FOUND A ( CAMPAIGN - RADIATOR COOLING FAN REPLACEMENT BULLETIN FROM CHRYSLER CORP. FROM JUNE 2011 ( MDH 042912 ) THAT SAID THE FAN COULD SEPARATE & CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE RADIATOR , I NEVER RECEIVED NOTICE & I GAVE THEM MY VIN # & THEY SAID MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL & WOULD NOT RE-IMBURSED ME FOR THE REPAIR AND TOW BILL . THEY SAID THAT WAS FOR 2006-2007 & 2008 MODELS BUILT UP TO APRIL 29 , 2008 ( MY CAR WAS BUILT IN MAY OF 2007 ) , I TOLD THEM THAT THE SAME PROBLEM LISTED IN THE RECALL HAPPENED TO MY CAR . APRIL 11, 2013 IS WHEN THIS COOLING FAN ISSUE HAPPENED.

THE CAR CONTINUED TO DO SO DURING THE DRIVE HOME AND DURING THE NEXT WEEK UNTIL I COULD GET AN APPOINTMENT WITH LOCAL DEALERSHIP. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY WERE UNSURE OF THE ISSUE. SHOWED THEM A VIDEO THAT WAS TAKEN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY (VERY UNSAFE TO HAVE YOUR CAR TOTALLY SHUT DOWN WHILE GOING 70 MPH). THEY REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH -- NOT WARRANTIED, $300 REPAIR. THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY YEAR WITH THE EXCEPTION OF 2012 (WEATHER IN REGION WAS WARMER AND DIDN'T MEET CONDITIONS AS PREVIOUS YEARS). NOW IT'S 2013 AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED DURING A RECENT BLIZZARD. DEALERSHIP SAYS THEIR HANDS ARE TIED, BUT I THINK THIS IS A CHRYSLER DEFECTIVE PART ISSUE. SOMETHING IN VERY COLD WEATHER IS CAUSING THE COMPUTER SYSTEM TO SHUT DOWN, WHICH COULD CAUSE A DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A SCARY SITUATION, ESPECIALLY IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING. I HAVE VIDEO OF THE ISSUE FROM A RECENT COMMUTE, AS WELL AS THE DOCUMENTATION OF THE ON-GOING ISSUE STARTING BACK IN 2010. CHRYSLER WAS CONTACTED ON 2/21/2013 WITH THE DETAILS. MY UTMOST CONCERN IS THAT THIS WILL (OR HAS) CAUSED A FATALITY AND CHRYSLER SEEMS UNWILLING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM WITH THIS DEFECTIVE PART. .

POWER TRAIN | 12/21/2012 - JACKSON, MS THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC ADVISED HER THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
