MY TRUCK STALLED WHILE ENTERING FREEWAY LANES. I WENT FROM 60MPH TO 10MPH AND WAS NEARLY READ ENDED. THE TRUCK FINALLY STALLED JUST AS I MADE IT TO THE SHOULDER. TWO HOURS LATER, MY TRUCK STALLED WHILE DOING 40MPH ON A SURFACE STREET. I HAD TO PULL INTO A CENTER TURN LANE TO AVOID BLOCKING TRAFFIC. FUEL WAS AT HALF A TANK. OIL LEVEL WAS GOOD.

WHILE IN MOTION MAKING A THREE POINT TURN TO TURN AROUND, THE ENGINE SPEED (RPM) INCREASED CAUSING TRUCK TO ACCELERATE FORWARD. SERVICE BRAKES DID NOT STOP THE TRUCK. I PUT THE TRUCK TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL WHILE DEPRESSING THE SERVICE BRAKE PEDAL, THE TRUCK STOPPED AND I SHUTOFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED. THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 6 TIMES.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-150. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE, IT REVVED UP. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND EXTENDED TO THE FLOORBOARD. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO AN ENCLOSED TRAILER ON JULY 5, 2017. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NOVEMBER 24, 2017 AND THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A WALL. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,000.

AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, I ACCELERATED RAPIDLY AND LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL ONCE I REACHED THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT...THE TRUCK CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN !! I HAD TO STOMP ON THE BRAKES TO SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN, THREW IT IN NEUTRAL AND ROLLED TO A SCARY STOP. THE TRUCK CONTINUED TO REV TO 4000 RPM'S WHILE IN NEUTRAL. MY WIFE JUMPED OUT OF TRUCK WHILE WE WERE AT A RED LIGHT. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS IN FRONT OF TRUCK. WHILE TRUCK WAS REVVING IN NEUTRAL ON ITS OWN, I TRIED STOMPING ON GAS PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES TO TRY TO STOP IT FROM REVVING TO NO AVAIL. I FINALLY TURNED THE TRUCK OFF AND RESTARTED IT A FEW MINUTES LATER, THE TRUCK IDLED NORMAL. I IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO TRY TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM TO NO AVAIL THE FLOOR MAT DID NOT INTERFERE WITH THE PEDAL. I DO HAVE A VIDEO OF THE INCIDENT ON MY PHONE.

VEHICLE WAS MOTION. MERGING ONTO INTERSTATE 93. DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO HIGHWAY SPEED. WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR, THE PEDAL DID NOT COME BACK, BUT RATHER WAS STUCK WIDE OPEN. I WAS FORCED TO PULL INTO THE BREAKDOWN LANE, TURN OFF THE ENGINE, PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND COAST TO A STOP. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES, I RESTARTED THE TRUCK AND IT WAS FINE. THIS VEHICLE HAS THE 4.6L 3-VALVE PER CYLINDER V-8 ENGINE WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. IT DOES NOT HAVE CRUISE CONTROL OR ANY POWER OPTIONS. I DECIDED TO FILE A COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS AFTER READING OVER 100 REPORTS OF THIS SAME ISSUE ON THE INTERNET. THE MANUFACTURER DENIES THERE IS A PROBLEM. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED BECAUSE OF IT.

TRAVELING AT 65 MPH ON THE EXPRESS WAY, I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND THE TRUCK TOOK OFF, ACCELERATING AS IF IT WAS BEING FLOORED!. I HIT THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT THE ENGINE STILL CONTINUED TO REV ITSELF AND ACCELERATE. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A STUCK FLOOR MAT BUT NOTHING WAS IN THE WAY. I HIT THE BRAKE PEDAL AGAIN AND POPPED THE GEAR SHIFTER INTO NEUTRAL. THIS STOPPED THE ENGINE FROM REVVING ITSELF AND ACCELERATING. AFTER ACCELERATING TO PASS ON THE HIGHWAY (65 MPH TO 70 MPH), THE TRUCK REMAINED GOING 70 MPH WHEN ACCELERATOR RELEASED. VEHICLE COULD BE SLOWED WITH DIFFICULTY BY APPLYING BRAKES, BUT WOULD RESUME SPEED WHEN BRAKES RELEASED. FORTUNATELY, TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT. CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT BEING USED AT TIME OF INCIDENT. ATTEMPTED TO RESOLVE ISSUE FOR APPROXIMATELY 4 MILES/MINUTES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (DETERMINED ACCELERATOR NOT STUCK ON FLOOR MAT, ENGAGED AND DISENGAGED CRUISE CONTROL, BRAKED REPEATEDLY WHILE MAKING SURE I WAS ALSO NOT HITTING THE ACCELERATOR). EVENTUALLY SLOWED VEHICLE TO APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH WITH EXTREME BRAKING ON AN UPHILL INCLINE, AT WHICH POINT VEHICLE WOULD NOT SLOW ANY FURTHER. TOOK TRUCK OUT OF GEAR AND SHUT OFF ENGINE (VEHICLE STOPPED). HAD TOWED TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF FORD DEALER WHO "COULD NOT REPRODUCE PROBLEM" BUT REPLACED ELECTRIC THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY AND CLEARED/REPROGRAMMED COMPUTER. WHEN ASKED IF INCIDENTS SUCH AS THESE ARE REPORTED TO FORD FOR THEIR DATABASE, THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE SAID NO, THAT THEY HAD NO MEANS TO DO SO.

WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, I LEFT OFF THE ACCELERATOR TO SLOW DOWN TO 45 MPH THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT AHEAD. AT 45 MPH, I SLIGHTLY TOUCHED THE ACCELERATOR TO MAINTAIN THE 45 MPH SPEED LIMIT, THE RPM'S WENT OVER 4000 AND WOULD NOT STOP. I APPLIED THE BRAKE, BUT THE ENGINE KEPT THE RPM'S BETWEEN 4000 AND 4200. I STOMPED ON THE BRAKE WITH BOTH FEET AND THE UN-INTENDED ACCELERATION STAYED AT THE HIGHER RPM. I COULD HEAR THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ENGAGE TO HELP SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN, BUT THE ENGINE LABORED OVER 4000 RPM. I WAS CONCERNED WITH NOT BEING ABLE TO STOP THE TRUCK, SO I SHIFTED THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL AND COASTED TO THE BERM OF THE ROAD WITH THE ENGINE STAYING AT A VERY HIGH RPM. ONCE I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, I SHIFTED THE TRUCK INTO PARK AND THE RPM'S WERE OVER 6000. I IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND WAITED A FEW SECONDS BEFORE TRYING TO RE-START THE TRUCK. I CHECKED THE CONDITION OF THE FLOOR MAT ASAP TO VERIFY IT WAS NOT ON TOP OF THE ACCELERATOR. THIS HAPPENED TO MY WIFE LESS THAN A YEAR AGO AND NOTHING WAS FOUND AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THE OGC REVIEWS SUGGESTED THAT THE FLOOR MAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THE FIRST UN-INTENDED ACCELERATION. AS I TURNED THE KEY, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START AND IT MADE A CLICKING NOISE. I GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK AND OPENED THE HOOD TO CHECK THE MOTOR. I COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING, SO I WENT BACK INTO THE CAB AND STARTED THE TRUCK. IT STARTED, BUT WOULD NOT IDLE, THE RPM'S WENT TO OVER 6000 AND STAYED CONSTANT. I SHUT THE TRUCK OFF AGAIN AND WAITED A FEW SECONDS AND ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT, I SHUT THE TRUCK BACK OFF, BECAUSE THE RPM'S WOULD NOT IDLE AND WENT TO 6000 AND STAYED THERE. I ADJUSTED THE POWER ADJUSTABLE FOOT PEDALS AND WAITED A FEW SECONDS AND THE TRUCK STARTED AND IDLED AT NORMAL RPM'S. I LEFT THE TRUCK AT THE DEALERSHIP ON 7/31/13 FOR AN INSPECTION....UPDATED 09-26-13

FROM A STOP, I RAPIDLY ACCELERATED TO 40 MPH. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP AT RED LIGHT I HAD TO APPLY EXCESSIVE BRAKE FORCE TO STOP. THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING AT HIGH RPM WITH FOOT OFF ACCELERATOR. I HAD TO TURN OFF IGNITION TO PREVENT GOING INTO INTERSECTION. THEN A FEW MINUTES LATER I WAS ON HIGHWAY GOING 70 MPH AND SET CRUISE. I TOOK MY EXIT, PRESSED ON BRAKE TO TURN OFF CRUISE. THE EXIT SPEED WAS 45 MPH. I WAS NOT SLOWING DOWN AND PRESSED BRAKES VERY HARD TO REDUCE SPEED. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RACING HIGH SPEED AS I WAS APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT. I HAD TO PLACE TRANS. IN NEUTRAL AND SWITCH OFF IGNITION. AFTER STARTING ENGINE AGAIN RPM IDLE WAS NORMAL AND PROBLEM DID NOT RE-OCCUR ALL THE WAY HOME. ON 7/25/13 I TURNED IN TRUCK TO HOMER SKELTON FORD IN OLIVE BRANCH, MS. WITH A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT TO SERVICE PERSONNEL TO INSPECT OR REPAIR VEHICLE. (THIS WAS A FIRST EVENT SINCE OCT. 2012) I FOUND A CODE C1963 IN COMPUTER USING CAR MD AND LOADED DEFECT ONTO WEB SITE FOR MY RECORDS.

I WAS ACCELERATING UP A SMALL HILL. I REACHED 30MPH AND STOPPED ACCELERATING. THE TRUCK CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE SLOWLY AT AROUND 2000RPMS AFTER I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE PEDAL. I SHIFTED THE TRUCK INTO NEUTRAL AND THE RPMS SLOWLY INCREASED AS IT WAS NO LONGER UNDER LOAD. I TAPPED THE ACCELERATOR AND THEY SURGED UP TO 4000 WHERE THEY WERE CAPPED BY THE COMPUTER. I USED MY BRAKES TO COME TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET AND TURNED THE TRUCK OFF. I WAITED A FEW SECONDS AND STARTED IT BACK UP. THE TACHOMETER SHOWED 1000RPMS AND THEN DOWN TO 700-800RPMS. I CONTINUED HOME. THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 OTHER TIMES WITH THIS VEHICLE. I AM STILL TROUBLESHOOTING THE PROBLEM, BUT IT IS NOT CAUSED BY FLOORMATS AND I HAVE RULED OUT THE CRUISE CONTROL BEING PART OF THE ISSUE. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED, I ENGAGED/DISENGAGED THE CRUISE CONTROL WHILE THE TRUCK WAS ACCELERATING ON THE INTERSTATE WITH NO CHANGE IN BEHAVIOR. IT APPEARS TO BE MECHANICAL TO THE THROTTLE BODY OR A COMPUTER MALFUNCTION SOMEHOW. IT IS A DIFFICULT PROBLEM TO REPLICATE AND DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TRIP. I AM GOING TO INSPECT/CLEAN THE THROTTLE BODY AND CLEAN THE MASS AIR INTAKE SENSOR. I HAVEN'T EVER HAD A VEHICLE ACT THIS WAY AND THINK THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM IF YOU HAVE TO TURN A VEHICLE OFF TO RESET IT. LOSING POWER-STEERING/BRAKES IS THE PROBLEM WITH DOING THIS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS UNDER WAY.

IT HAS BEEN THAT WAY FROM THE DAY I BOUGHT IT UNTIL PRESENT. WHEN I QUESTIONED THE DEALER ON THE LOSE OF POWER PROBLEM I WAS TOLD NOTHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT BECAUSE IT IS A NORMAL ISSUE WITH FLY BY WIRE ACCELERATOR.

I REMOVED MY FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR ONLY TO HEAR THE ENGINE REVVING AND WATCHED THE SPEEDOMETER CONTINUE TO CLIMB. I WAS TRAVELING BETWEEN 80-85 MPH BY THE TIME I WAS ENTERING THE INTERSTATE APPROACHING A TRACTOR TRAILER TRUCK. I STOOD WITH BOTH FEET, STRAIGHT LEGGED WITH 130 POUNDS ON THE BRAKE WHILE NOT ONLY TRYING TO AVOID THE TRACTOR TRAILER IN FRONT OF ME, BUT WATCHING ANOTHER TRACTOR TRAILER APPROACHING ME FROM BEHIND. MY SPEED CONTINUED TO CLIMB AS THE ACCELERATOR REMAINED STUCK. AFTER APPROXIMATELY HALF A MILE OF ME STANDING ON THE BRAKE, I HEARD A LOUD BANG AS THE ACCELERATOR LET GO AND MY BRAKING TOOK EFFECT. I TOOK IT TO THE CLOSEST FORD DEALERSHIP WHO "COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, THE PEDDLE MUST HAVE BEEN STUCK ON THE FLOORMAT". AS I WAS NOT SATISFIED, I THEN TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I HAD PURCHASED IT ONLY TO BE TOLD THE SAME THING. AS THE PERSON DRIVING THE VEHICLE, I CAN ASSURE YOU, IT WASN'T STUCK ON THE FLOORMAT. THE SAME THING OCCURRED TO MY HUSBAND AS HE ACCELERATED TO PASS A VEHICLE. HOWEVER, THE PERIOD OF ACCELERATION DID NOT LAST AS LONG AS THIS LAST EPISODE. BOTH DEALERSHIPS WERE MADE WELL AWARE OF BOTH INCIDENTS.

I SHUT OFF AGAIN LEFT OFF FOR 15 MINUTES, PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR A FEW TIMES TO MAKE SURE IT WASN'T STICKING TO ANYTHING (IT WAS NOT) AND RESTARTED. AT THIS TIME THE VEHICLE APPEARED TO WORK NORMALLY, DROVE ON HOME. TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER THE FOLLOWING MONDAY, LEFT IT FOR THEM ON TUESDAY. THEY SAID THERE WERE NO CODES AND COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE AND THEREFORE NOTHING THEY COULD DO. THIS IS THE NINTH PROBLEM I HAVE HAD TO TAKE THE TRUCK IN TO HAVE FIXED UNDER THE WARRANTY.

THE FORD DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM; STATES THAT 4 PEOPLE HAVE DRIVEN IT; THEY LET IT RUN FOR TWO HOURS AND ALL DIAGNOSTICS TESTS INDICATE ALL IS WELL. AFTER MAYBE A HUNDRED YARDS AND THROWING ON THE E-BRAKE AND HITTING THE BRAKES I WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY BRING THE SPEED DOWN AT WHICH POINT I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF. AFTER WAITING A WHILE ON THE SHOULDER I TURNED THE TRUCK BACK ON AND EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL, I PUT THE TRUCK INTO DRIVE AND BEGAN TO SLOWLY PRESS ON THE ACCELERATOR TO GET BACK ON THE HIGHWAY. IT WAS THEN THAT THE RPM'S AGAIN KICKED WAY UP AND THE TRUCK BEGAN TO TRY AND TAKE OFF. LUCKILY I WASN'T GOING VERY FAST AND RODE THE BRAKES AND TURNED THE TRUCK OFF. I THEN CALLED A TOW TRUCK. FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS NO ONE IN MY LANE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS ABLE TO SWITCH THE VEHICLE OFF, SHIFT TO NEUTRAL AND HOLD MY LANE POSITION AS I BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO A STOP. I DISLODGED THE ACCELERATOR FROM THE MAT AND THEN REMOVED THE MAT. AT THAT POINT, I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE MY TRIP. I PURCHASED THE MATS DIRECTLY FROM WEATHERTECH ON DEC 27,2008. SHORTLY AFTER I RECEIVED THE MATS, WEATHERTECH THEN SENT ME REPLACEMENT MATS FOR THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER. THERE WAS NO EXPLANATION FOR THE REPLACEMENT MATS. CURIOUS AS TO THE REASON AND CONCERNED THAT I WAS BEING CHARGED AGAIN FOR MATS, MY WIFE CALLED WEATHERTECH'S SERVICE LINE. SHE WAS TOLD THAT WEATHERTECH WAS NOT "SATISFIED WITH THE FIT" OF THE FIRST SET OF MATS THAT WE RECEIVED. THERE WAS CERTAINLY NO INDICATION THAT THERE WAS ANY SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE ORIGINAL MATS. I COMPARED THE NEW MATS TO THE ORIGINAL ONES AND COULD SEE NO SUBSTANTIAL DIFFERENCE, SO I DID NOT REPLACE THEM, AND SIMPLY PUT THE NEW MATS IN MY GARAGE, UNUSED. AFTER THE JAN 2, 2010 EVENT, I REALIZED THAT THERE WAS INDEED A CHANGE. A CHANGE THAT I NOW KNOW TO BE VERY SIGNIFICANT. THE REPLACEMENT MAT HAS A ?CUT OUT? FOR THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO PREVENT THE LOWER END OF THE PEDAL FROM HANGING UP ON THE MAT. OBVIOUSLY, I HAVE NOW SWITCHED OUT THE OLD MAT FOR THE NEW ONE. I CERTAINLY APPLAUD THE REDESIGN. MY CONCERN IS THAT I RECEIVED NO WARNING OR INDICATION FROM WEATHERTECH THAT REPLACING THE DRIVER?S MAT WAS AN URGENT SAFETY MATTER THAT COULD RESULT IN DEATH OR INJURY IF NOT PERFORMED PROMPTLY. 2009 FORD F-150 PICKUP TRUCK 4.6 L EFI V8 ENGINE ACCELORATOR STICKS WHEN BRAKE APPLIED. HAS DONE THIS 6 TIMES SO FAR (ONCE IN REVERSE) AND THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 1480 MILES. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE ENGINE IS COLD OR WARM. THE TRUCK CONTINUES TO SURGE AHEAD EVEN AS I APPLY EXTREME BRAKE PRESSURE. I HAVE TAKEN THIS TRUCK INTO THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK. I LEFT IT WITH THEM SEVERAL DAYS. THEY SAY THEY CANNOT FIX THE PROBLEM UNLESS THEY CAN REPLICATE IT. THEY RETURNED THE TRUCK TO ME. THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN, TWICE, TODAY (6 FEBRUARY 2010)

ON SUN JAN 3, 2009 AT 7:20 A.M. I WAS DRIVING TO WORK IN MY FORD F-150 2009 4X4 PICK UP TRUCK, WHEN THE PEDAL ACCELERATED FROM 55 MPH TO 80 MPH ON ITS OWN. THE PEDAL LEFT MY FOOT AS IF I HAD CRUISE CONTROL. I DON'T I ATTEMPTED TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP I COULD NOT. I DOUBLED DOWN ON THE BRAKES WHILE PUMPING THE GAS PEDAL AND EVENTUALLY THE GAS PEDAL RELEASED. THE DAY WAS CLEAR WEATHER CONDITIONS AND THE TEMP WAS VERY COLD. I WAS DRIVING ON A ONE LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY AND I HAD A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS TERRIFIED!! I TOOK MY VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER PRINCE FREDERICK, MD FORD DEALERSHIP AND LEFT IT FOR THE DAY. THE RESULT: THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ACTION COME PICK UP YOUR VEHICLE. SO IF I DIE MY PARENTS HAVE IT IN WRITING THAT FORD WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ACTION. I FELT GREAT ABOUT THIS. WE DROVE A RENTAL 2009 FORD F 150 FROM ENTERPRISE RENTAL IN BOISE, ID (12-28-09 TO 12-31-09)FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. ON THE 4TH DAY, WE HAD THE ACCELERATOR STICK SEVERAL TIMES. IT WOULD NOT STOP AT INTERSECTIONS, AND WE THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ICY ROADS (EVEN THOUGH THE ROADS ONLY LOOKED WET!) ONCE WAS AT AN INTERSECTION WHERE THE CROSS TRAFFIC WAS GOING 50 MPH AND WE ALMOST GOT HIT! LATER, THE TRUCK ACTED UP WHEN WE TRIED TO STOP IN A LINE OF TRAFFIC AT A STOPLIGHT. IT WAS ACCELERATING SO FAST, WE PUT IT IN PARK AND SHUT IF OFF TO AVOID CRASHING INTO CARS AHEAD OF US. THE RENTAL COMPANY BROUGHT US ANOTHER CAR. WE TOLD THEM ABOUT THE PROBLEM (WHICH DISAPPEARED WHEN THEY DROVE THE TRUCK AWAY). I'M AFRAID THAT THEY'LL RENT IT OUT AGAIN TO SOMEONE ELSE THINKING THAT THE PROBLEM WAS US, AND NOT THE TRUCK!

WHILE DRIVING MY 2009 FORD TRUCK I LEFT A STOP SIGN RAPIDLY AND PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR DOWN FIRMLY, IT STUCK TO THE FLOOR. I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE AS HARD AS I COULD HOPING THE PEDAL WOULD COME OFF THE FLOOR. THEN I TRIED TO SHIFT THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL BUT THE MOTOR RACED. A CAR WAS COMING UP BEHIND ME SO I PUT IN DRIVE TURNED HARD OFF THE ROAD WITH THE WHEELS SPINNING AND SHUT THE KEY OFF IN GEAR. I DROVE THE TRUCK HOME AND PARKED IT. I LATTER DISCOVERED THAT THE ACCELERATOR WAS CATCHING ON THE RUBBER FLOOR MAT THAT CAME WITH THE VEHICLE. I LOWERED THE POWER PEDALS TO DECREASE THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE PEDALS BUT WHEN I REENACTED THE EVENT FOR A COWORKER THE PEDAL STUCK TO THE FLOOR AGAIN.

WHILE DRIVING OUR NEW 2009 F150 TRUCK WITH ONLY 3,200 MILES ON IT, I STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT. THE TRUCK BEGAN TO IDLE VERY FAST AND WAS LURCHING FORWARD, WHEN I TOOK FOOT OFF BRAKE THE TRUCK ACCELERATED VERY FAST TO 80 - 90 MPH. I COULD HARDLY SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN BY APPLYING BRAKES AS HARD AS POSSIBLE. I WAS ON A FREEWAY AND CONTINUED TO PUT IT INTO NEUTRAL WHICH ONLY SLOWED IT DOWN FOR A MOMENT .CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT ON AND THERE ARE NO FLOOR MATS IN THE TRUCK. I CONTINUED DOWN THE FREEWAY FOR APPROX. 3 MILES WHEN I DECIDED I HAD TO EXIT FREEWAY BECAUSE I WAS GAINING SPEED. I PUT IT INTO NEUTRAL AGAIN TO EXIT ON A OFF RAMP DOING ABOUT 40 MPH. THE BRAKES WERE NOT DOING ANYTHING TO SLOW TRUCK DOWN AT THIS POINT. I WAS HEADED FOR A VERY BUSY INTERSECTION AND DID NOT WANT TO BROADSIDE ANOTHER VEHICLE SO I THEN DECIDED TO CRASH INTO A ROW OF DUMPSTERS AT THE END OF A STRIP MALL. AS SOON AS I ENTERED THE MALL PARKING LOT I THROUGH IT INTO PARK WHICH LOCKED THE STEERING AND I STOPPED JUST FEW FEET IN FRONT OF DUMPSTERS. WE HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO NEARBY FORD DEALERSHIP. THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY CAN NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRUCK. THEY WANT US TO PICK UP TRUCK AND WE REFUSE TO DRIVE THE TRUCK HOME.

WHILE ACCELERATING ONTO HIGHWAY, THE THROTTLE STUCK AND KEPT ACCELERATING THE VEHICLE EVEN AFTER MY FOOT WAS REMOVED FROM GAS PEDAL. I HAD TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND THE ENGINE STAYED AT 4000RPM WITHOUT PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO A STOP ON THE SHOULDER AND SHUT IT OFF. IT WORKED FINE ON THE WAY HOME. THIS VEHICLE IS GOING TO FORD IN THE MORNING!

WHILE ACCELERATING ON A RAMP TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC THE TRUCK ACCELERATOR PEDAL GOT STUCK CAUSING THE TRUCK TO GAIN SPEED RAPIDLY. THE TRUCK WENT FROM APPROX 25 TO 87MPH. I WAS UNABLE TO GET THE PEDAL UN-STUCK. THE BRAKES AND EMERGENCY BRAKE HAD LITTLE EFFECT, I NARROWLY MISSED HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE AND WAS UNABLE TO GET THE TRUCK TO SLOW DOWN FOR A FEW MILES. I EVENTUALLY WAS ABLE TO SLOW IT TO 30MPH AND PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE TO MAKE IT STOP COMPLETELY. IT HAS OCCURRED ONCE (AND THAT IS ENOUGH). I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO A FORD DEALER AND WAS LATER ADVISED THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO I COULD COME PICK THE TRUCK UP. NOTHING HAS BEEN FIXED.

TL CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-150. WHILE PLACING THE VEHICLE INTO REVERSE, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK AND THE STEERING COLUMN LOCKED TO THE LEFT. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND ALMOST STRUCK A PEDESTRIAN. THE VEHICLE CRASHED AND THE CONTACT WAS INJURED. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED DAMAGES TO THE CAB, TIRES, AND SEATING AREA. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND INSPECTED BY A TECHNICIAN, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INSURANCE AGENT, WHO IS CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING THE FAILURE AND REPAIRING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT IS IN THE PROCESS OF NOTIFYING THE MANUFACTURER.
