STEERING

1/9/2017 - LINO LAKES, MN
STEERING COLUMN RATTLES ON ROUGH ROADS AND WHEN BRAKING. AFTER REPLACING MANY PARTS I HAVE FIGURED OUT WITH THE HELP OF OTHERS AND THE INTERNET THAT THE STEERING COLUMN IS BAD. THE GEAR MESH BETWEEN THE ELECTRONICS POWER STEERING MOTOR AND STEERING COLUMN IS NOT A GOOD MESH. I BOUGHT THIS USED CAR FOR MY DAUGHTER TO DRIVE TO COLLEGE AND WORK AND BELIEVE THAT THE STEERING AND BRAKING SHOULD ALWAYS FEEL SMOOTH FOR THE LIFE OF THE CAR.I UNDERSTAND IF THE ISSUE WAS WARPED ROTORS OR WORN OUT BUSHINGS BUT THIS IS A GEAR MESH. I CAN NOT EVEN PURCHASE A NEW STEERING COLUMN FROM A PARTS STORE. THIS TELLS ME THAT CHEVROLET KNOWS THERE IS AN ISSUE AND WILL NOT PROVIDE A FIX. I ALSO HAVE TRIED BUYING A USED STEERING COLUMN BUT THE AUTO JUNK YARD SAID THY CAN NOT SELL THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE ON RECALL. I FOUND SERVICE BULLETIN #04-03-8-006G. CONDITION 1 IS WHAT I HAVE AND TESTED USING THE STEPS IN THE BULLETIN. I THEN WENT TO FOREST LAKE, MN CHEVROLET CADILLAC DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSIS AND THEY SAID THAT THE PART WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND COULD BE REPLACED AT A COST OF ALMOST $1000. I AM LOOKING FOR THIS TO BE COVERED UNDER "SPECIAL WARRANTY" OR RECALL AS I BELIEVE CHEVROLET KNOWS THIS IS AN ISSUE. PLEASE RESPOND WITH INFORMATION ON WHEN I CAN SCHEDULE A REPAIR. THANK YOU, DENNIS LUTZ DENNIS.LUTZ@GMAIL.COM 612-201-7046

POWER TRAIN

11/2/2016 - BELLEVUE, NE
HAD THIS VEHICLE ONLY 6 MONTHS AND HAD THE FLUID CHANGED. THEN WENT TO MOVE IT AND REVERSE WAS ONLY FORWARD AND FORWARD WAS FORWARD. HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THEY DIAGNOSED AND SAID THERE WAS NO GEARS. THEY SAID IT NEED A TRANSMISSION. ALSO THEY SAID IT NEED A NEW RADIATOR, BECAUSE OF THE BACK FLOW FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THE RADIATOR WOULD COST ABOUT 700. DOLLARS. HAS THERE BEEN ANY PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION WITH OTHER VEHICLES? DOES THE DEALERS DIAGNOSE OR DO THEY REPAIR THE ITEM. I THINK THE PROBLEM WAS THE SHIFTING PIN WENT OUT WITH THE SHIFTING, BUT THEY PUT IN AND CHARGED FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION.
