TL- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOOSE CONTROL AND CRASH INTO A FIELD BEFORE FLIPPING INTO A RIVER. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT DURING THE INCIDENT THE BRAKE AND POWER STEERING WOULD NOT OPERATE AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED DURING THE CRASH AND A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN AT THE SEEN. THE DRIVER SUFFERED BRUISES TO THE RIGHT ARM, RIGHT HAND, NECK, AND LEFT KNEE DURING THE INCIDENT. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT A REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE MANUFACTURER EXAMINED THE VEHICLE BUT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000. JFT

THE REMEDY ITSELF DID NO REPAIR ANYTHING TO THE ACTUAL IGNITION SWITCH. THE CONTACT PRIOR TO HAVING HIS VEHICLE SERVICED, LEFT A SIGN ON THE IGNITION SWITCH COVER. THIS SIGN WAS LEFT TO MAKE SURE SOMETHING WAS DONE TO THE IGNITION COVER. WHEN THE CONTACT RECEIVED HIS VEHICLE NOTHING WAS DONE AND THE SIGN WAS INTACT AND UNDISTURBED . THE CONTACT WAS UPSET AND CONCERN THIS REMEDY DID NOT SUFFICE TO REPAIR THE DEFECT. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTION HIS AIR BAG LIGHT WAS CONSTANTLY VIABLE ON HIS INSTRUMENTAL PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE 34,000. AZ
