TL-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER:10V475000 (STEERING). THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED ON TWO OCCASIONS THE POWER STEERING HOSE DETACHED FROM THE CRIMPED, WHICH RESULTED IN FLUID LEAKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT POWER STEERING HOSE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED PREVIOUSLY. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.JB

WHILE DRIVING AT APPROX. 55 MPH DASH LIGHTS CAME ON, GAUGES WENT TO 0, AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON. VEHICLE NEVER LOST ACCELERATION, BUT TURN SIGNALS AND BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD NOT WORK. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST ONCE FOR THE LAST THREE DAYS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WITH CHILDREN IN VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE IGNITION KEY WOULD NOT GO INTO THE START POSITION PREVENTING THE VEHICLE FROM TURNING ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

AFTER GETTING OFF FROM A LONG DAY AT WORK. LEAVING THE PARKING LOT ON THE SECOND FLOOR FROM WORK I WAS COMING DOWN THE RAMP WHEN I LOST COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN ON ME LEAVING ME TO FLOOR THE BREAK TO STOP THE VEHICLE ALMOST CAUSING ME TO CRASH INTO THE CURB. ALL SERVICE LIGHTS COME UP ON DASH BOARD WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED GOING ON AND THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WORST THING IS AFTER DOING RESEARCH ABOUT MY VEHICLE IS THAT IT'S BEEN A COMMON PROBLEM WITH ALL CHRYSLER,JEEP,DODGE VEHICLES. REPAIRS FOR THIS IS ABOUT 1,200$ SOMETHING CUSTOMERS ARE SUBJECT TO PAY DUE TO NOT BEING COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS SAFETY!!!!
