10/18/2014 - CHESTER, OH
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND THE VEHICLE LURCHED AND LOST POWER. THE MOTOR WAS STILL RUNNING, BUT WHEN PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR THERE WAS NOTHING. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STOPPED. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO "LOPE" AND THERE WAS A LIGHT ON THE DASH SHOWING A LITTLE WRENCH. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND STARTED IT BACK UP AGAIN, AND IT RAN FINE. THIS SAME THING HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 4 MORE TIMES. IF THERE WAS NO IMMEDIATE WAY TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY, THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS RESULTING IN A REAR END COLLISION.

10/18/2014 - CHESTER, OH

10/13/2014 - MORGANTOWN, PA
MY FAMILY AND I WERE TRAVELING HW 113 IN VA COMING BACK TO PA FROM NC. MY HUSBAND ACCELERATED TO PASS A VEHICLE. AFTER PASSING, OUR VEHICLE BEGAN LOSING ACCELERATION...MY HUSBAND PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND WAS NOT GETTING ANY ACCELERATION. THE WRENCH LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND WE HAD TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY WHILE CARS WERE PASSING US AND COMING UP ON US QUICKLY. WE CAME TO A STOP AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL. MY HUSBAND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF, WAITING A MINUTE AND RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO RUN FINE THE REST OF THE WAY TO PA. WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THE FOLLOWING DAY (MONDAY) AND WERE TOLD THEY COULD NOT GET THE VEHICLE IN UNTIL 8/4. I BEGAN FINDING INFO ON THE WEB REGARDING FORD'S CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03 REGARDING THE THROTTLE BODY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NOT ANY CODES SHOWING ON THE COMPUTER. THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY. I WAS TOLD TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN TO BRING IT BACK. I REFUSED AND INSISTED THEY REPLACE IT. I AM NOW STILL FIGHTING WITH FORD TO REIMBURSE ME. I HAVE SENT LETTERS TO FORD ONLY TO RECEIVE A "FORM LETTER" BACK FROM THEM SUGGESTING THAT I TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO DETERMINE IF THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDS REPLACEMENT...I HAD IT REPLACED ALREADY...THEY OBVIOUSLY DO NOT READ LETTERS SENT TO THEM. 10/6/2014 - WHITE OAK , PA
TL-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO BECOME HARD TO TURN. THE CONTACT HAD TO USE EXTREME FORCE WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL IN ORDER TO MERGE TO THE SIDE OF ROAD. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE STARTED TO EXHIBIT THE FAILURE AFTER BEING REPAIRED UNDER RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14V284000 (ELECTRIC POWER STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000. PAM

MY CAR WAS PARKED AT MY MOTHERS IN FRONT OF HER GARAGE. I WAS INSIDE THE BARN WITH HER AND WE HEARD THIS NOISE. I LOOKED OUTSIDE AND MY REAR WINDOW ON THE HATCH HAD EXPLODED. IT WAS ONLY ABOUT 70 DEGREES AND CLOUDY OUTSIDE, THE VENTS WERE OPEN AND THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW WAS PART WAY DOWN FOR AIR. NO ONE WAS NEAR THE CAR WHEN IT HAPPENED. IT JUST EXPLODED FOR NO KNOWN REASON. NOTHING LEFT TO IT.

THE EASY FUEL CAPLESS FUEL FILLER CAP BROKE OFF INSIDE THE FUEL FILLER NECK. NOW GAS WILL ONLY GO IN VERY SLOWLY AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON DUE TO VAPOR LEAK. WILL COST $400 PLUS TO REPLACE ENTIRE FUEL FILLER NECK.
