TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER (DYER CHEVROLET LAKE WALES, 21500 HIGHWAY 27 NORTH, LAKE WALES, FL 33859, (863) 676-7671) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

I WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION MY AIRBAGS FIRED BUT DID NOT DEPLOY THERE WAS A BAD SMELL IN THE CAB AS WELL AS WHAT I WOULD DESCRIBE AS BABY POWDER THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SAID THEY DID NOT DEPLOY BUT THE SMELL IS WHAT THEY HAVE RAN INTO WHEN THEY HAVE DEPLOYED SO AGAIN THEY FIRED BUT DID NOT DEPLOY
