OUR CAR WAS PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY, TEMPERATURE AROUND 30. I GRABBED SOMETHING OUT OF THE BACK OF THE CAR AND WHEN I SHUT THE LIFTGATE, THE GLASS INSTANTLY SHATTERED, THROWING GLASS SEVERAL FEET IN EACH DIRECTION. THE GLASS HAD NOT BEEN PREVIOUSLY SCRATCHED, CRACKED, OR DAMAGED IN ANY WAY.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 6 MPH PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT, THE VEHICLE LOST STEERING POWER. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 129,000.

NEXT, FRONT SWAY BARS, OUTER TIE ROD ENDS, BRAKES AND ROTORS NEEDED REPLACEMENT. IN OCT. 2016 ENGINE/TRANSMISSION MAJOR ISSUES: LEAKING OIL AND TRANS FLUID -NO OIL LAMP OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT- CAR WOULD RUN OUT OF OIL, PULLED OVER ADDED MORE. TRANS SLIPPING DURING ACCEL/WEAK ACCEL. HARD SHIFTING W/HIGH RPMS. ROUGH IDLE.
