10/22/2018 - PONTIAC, MI
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED BRIEFLY, AN INTERNAL FIRE OCCURRED. THE AIR CONDITIONING LINE TO THE COMPRESSOR HAD A HOLE IN THE RUBBER AND MELTED DUE TO THE FIRE. THE CONTACT LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND NOTICED THAT THE WIRING, AIR CONDITIONING LINE, HOSES, AND OTHER COMPONENTS BEHIND THE ALTERNATOR ASSEMBLY WERE DAMAGED. THE DEALER (GOLLING CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM, 2405 S TELEGRAPH RD, BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI 48302, (248) 334-3600) WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.

STEERING TIE INNER AND OUTTER RODS, STABILIZING BAR AND BALL JOINTS, RECALLED ON EXACT SAME MODEL BUT YEAR 2008. WOULD NOT COVER, COST US 1800.00 TO REPAIR LAST YEAR. TODAY, GAS TANK STRAP RUSTED AND GAS TANK DROPPED OUT, AGAIN RECALLED FOR SAME MAKE AND MODEL 2008 TO PRESENT, OURS IS 2007. COST TO REPAIR 354.90 PLUS $75 TOW. I CAN PROVIDE BILLS IF NECESSARY. DODGE SHOULD PAY FOR THESE OBVIOUS MANUFACTURING ERRORS. BELOW IS MOST RECENT OF THESE RECALLS THAT MISS OUR'S BY 1 YEAR. A FIRE MARSHALL HAPPENED TO NOTICE GAS TANK HANGING MINUTES BEFORE GETTING ON FREEWAY. FIRST, HAPPENED AS LEFT HOUSE AND COULD NOT STEER TRUCK. JUST LUCKY NEITHER WERE ON A FREEWAY.

UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE COUPLER BETWEEN THE CENTER LINK AND THE TIE ROD END WAS DAMAGED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 47,000. TYPICAL BOLTS SHEARED OFF INSIDE THE BLOCK AND AN EXHAUST MANIFOLD LEAK CAUSING A TICK. THIS THE 2ND DODGE RAM THAT I HAVE OWNED. BOTH HAVE HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM (MY PREVIOUS TRUCK HAD I TWICE(!) WHILE I OWNED IT). IF YOU LOOK AT ANY NUMBER OF ONLINE FORUMS YOU WILL SEE THAT I AM ABOUT THE MILLIONTH PERSON THAT HAS HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN. LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE HAS THIS PROBLEM. APPARENTLY DODGE HAS RELEASED A STATEMENT (THOUGH I CAN NOT CONFIRM) STATING THAT THE COMBINATION AT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD OF CAST IRON, ALUMINUM, AND WEAK BOLTS MAKES THIS HAPPEN OVER & OVER AGAIN. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AND DODGE SHOULD HAVE TO FIX THIS.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING SERVICED AT HUNTINGTON BEACH CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (16701 BEACH BLVD, HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA 92647, (714) 841-3999), THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE LUG NUTS ON ALL FOUR WHEELS WERE SWELLING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,507.

WFE WAS INVOLVE IN A WRECK WHERE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. SHE HIT WOMEN THAT DID NOT STOP AT STOP SIGN. DODGE RAM 2007 WAS TOTALED COMPLETELY. TRUCK WAS RECALLED AND JAMES HODGE DEALERSHIP SUPPOSEDLY FIXED BAGS BUT THAT WAS PASSENGER SIDE. HOWEVER, NEITHER BAGS WERE DEPLOYED. ACCIDENT DATE JUNE 25, 2018.
