ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

4/24/2019 - MAMMOTH SPRING, AR
BACK TRUCK DOOR LOCKED AND WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE DASH LIGHT SHOWS DOOR IS OPEN, BACK GLASS DEFROST WILL NOT COME ON, NONE OF THE DOORS WILL LOCK OR UNLOCK WITH CONTROLS OR REMOTE. THE TRUCK WAS SITTING IN DRIVEWAY WHEN IT STARTED SHOWING DOOR WAS OPEN. DOOR LOCKED WHEN I PUSHED THE REMOTE LOCK AND WILL NOT OPEN BACK UP AT ALL. BACK DEFROST STOPED WORKING ABOUT A WEEK BEFORE THE DOORS MESSED UP I PUSHED THE BUTTON TO TURN IT ON AND IT NEVER CAME ON.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO CRANK AND START INTERMITTENTLY. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT HAD TO WAIT A BRIEF MOMENT BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD RESTART AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. IN ADDITION, WHEN THE GEAR WAS CHANGED, THE GEAR INDICATOR WOULD NOT DISPLAY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. ALSO, THE "PRNDL" ILLUMINATION FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. LONG MCARTHUR FORD (3450 S 9TH ST, SALINA, KS 67401, (785) 823-2237) AND THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM MANUFACTURER CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12C123 AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V190000 (POWER TRAIN, EXTERIOR LIGHTING) DUE TO THE MILEAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.

AFTER RECEIVED A RECALL LATER FOR OSS ON MY TRUCK, BRING TO GERVAIS FORD AYER MA, ON THE WAY TO THE DEALER, TRUCK TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFT, DEALER LOOK AT, AFTER ALL, THEY SAID THAT THE RECALL WAS ONLY FOR SOFTWARE UPGRADE AND THE PROCEDURE WAS DONE BEFORE FOR A 3TH PART, BUT YEAR AGO THE VALVE BODY WAS CHANGE ON THE SAME DEALER AND THE PROBLEMS ARE SIMILAR, THEY TRY TO CHARGE ME FOR DIAGNOSIS, THAT I REFUSED.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME STIFF AND WAS UNABLE TO BE MANEUVERED. THE VEHICLE STRUCK A CURB, AS A RESULT. THERE WAS NO CRASH. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, THE SERVICE ADVANCE TRACK INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO REVERSE OCCASIONALLY. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE SHIFTED INTO REVERSE, THE REVERSE INDICATOR WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FOX FORD MAZDA (3560 28TH ST, GRAND RAPIDS, MI 49512) WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V582000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND WAS UNABLE TO ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 181,000.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DAHL FORD DAVENPORT (1310 E KIMBERLY DR, DAVENPORT, IA 52807) FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED HARD SHIFTING THAT WAS NOT PRESENT BEFORE THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY WANTED TO CHARGE THE CONTACT FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS OPENED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,711.

4/17/2019 - CARTERSVILLE, GA
WHILE DRIVING IN A DEEP CURVE, IT BECOMES HARD TO STRAIGHTEN THE STEERING WHEEL. IT IS LIKE IT LOSES ITS POWER STEERING FOR ABOUT 1-2 SECONDS AND ONCE YOU FORCE IT STRAIGHT, THE POWER STEERING BEGINS WORKING AGAIN. IT WILL BE FINE FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN START ACTING UP AGAIN. SOMETIMES IT IS A FULL ON STICK IN ONE POSITION, OTHER TIMES IT IS JERKY STICKING AS YOU ARE TRYING TO STRAIGHTEN IT BACK UP. IT HAS ALMOST CAUSE ME TO RUN OFF THE ROAD MULTIPLE TIMES; I HAVE HAD TO LEARN TO NOT PANIC WHEN IT HAPPENS AND JUST SLOW DOWN UNTIL I AM BACK IN CONTROL. THE EPS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED ON THESE BEFORE DEATHS OCCUR. I HAVE THREE VERY YOUNG CHILDREN THAT I WON'T EVEN DRIVE AROUND DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT IS SO DANGEROUS TO TRY TO DRIVE ON IN CURVES. THIS HAS BEEN OFF AND ON HAPPENING FOR ABOUT 1.5 YEARS NOW. I AM GOING TO TRY TO SELL THE TRUCK AND HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING GETTING IT FIXED AND IF IT WAS A RECALL HER RECENTLY AND I FIND IT TO BE RIDICULOUS THAT IT WILL COST $2,000 ON A TRUCK THAT IS ONLY WORTH $10,000. IT IS EVEN MORE CRAZY THAT IT IS SOMETHING THAT HAS TO BE PAID FOR WHEN SAFETY IS THE SOLE REASON TO DO IT. FORD SHOULD DEFINITELY FIX THIS SAFETY CONCERN AND GET RID OF THE EPS SYSTEM.

2011 FORD F150. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION. THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED FROM 6TH GEAR INTO 1ST GEAR, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO DRASTICALLY DROP IN SPEED AND SKID OUT OF CONTROL. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SHOULDER. THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER WAS UNWILLING TO ASSIST WITH THE VEHICLE'S REPAIRS.
