I AM AN OWNER OF A FORD F-150 PLATINUM. THE VIN IS (XXXXX). I RECEIVED A NOTICE OF A RECALL WITH FIX FOR MY PICKUP LAST YEAR. I TOOK MY PICKUP WITH THE NOTICE THAT I HAD RECEIVED IN THE MAIL TO OUR LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP, BAUGH FORD IN CLANTON, ALABAMA. I HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP ON OR AROUND SEPTEMBER 5, 2018 TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. PRIOR TO THIS REPAIR, I HAD NOT NOTICED OR EXPERIENCED ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. HOWEVER, FOLLOWING THE REPAIR, I NOTICED THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING OR FOR LACK OF A BETTER TERM FORGETTING WHAT GEAR IT WAS IN. THIS SEEMED TO HAPPEN WHILE TRAVELING SLOWLY AS IN A PARKING LOT, THEN LETTING OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR. AS SOON AS THE ACCELERATOR WAS DEPRESSED THERE WAS A BRIEF PAUSE FOLLOWED BY A LOUD METAL TO METAL POP AND JOLT AS IF SOMEONE HAD HIT THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THIS OCCURRED INFREQUENTLY AND I COULD NOT MAKE THIS HAPPEN, NOT REPRODUCEABLE. THIS OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY SIX TIMES SINCE SEPTEMBER LAST. ON JUNE 15, 2019, WHILE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE I-65 NORTH JUST NORTH OF MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA AT HIGHWAY SPEED, I NOTICED THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED TO MOMENTARILY SLIP OR GO INTO NEUTRAL. THE GEAR SELECTOR WAS STILL IN DRIVE POSITION AND REMAINED IN THAT POSITION THROUGH OUT THIS INCIDENT. THEN IT SEEMED AS IF THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SHIFTING GEARS. AT SOME POINT THE REAR TIRES LOCKED AND THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE RIGHT AND I AND THE TRUCK ABRUPTLY LEFT THE INTERSTATE. I WENT DOWN A STEEP EMBANKMENT. I FINALLY MANAGED TO STOP MY VEHICLE, WITHOUT HITTING ANY OTHER VEHICLE OR HIGHWAY SIGNAGE, NEAR A SECONDARY ROAD. I THEN MOVED THE GEAR SELECTOR FROM DRIVE INTO THE PARK POSITION AND THEN BACK TO THE DRIVE POSITION AND DROVE A SHORT DISTANCE TO A SAFER LOCATION. I EXITED MY VEHICLE AND WALKED AROUND AND LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, THERE NO WARNING LIGHTS, NO ERROR/MALFUNCTION CODES. WE HAD A MARCH SNOW STORM ON 3-18-19 AND TEMPERATURES WERE BELOW FREEZING. I HAD TURNED ON MY REAR WINDOW DEFROST AND WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK DRIVING ON A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POP SOUND. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND FOUND THAT ONE OF MY REAR WINDOWS HAD SHATTERED. THIS IS A WINDOW WITH THE DEFROSTING ELEMENT IN IT. AFTER INSPECTING THE WINDOW I FOUND THAT THERE WAS NO SIGN OF ANY IMPACT TO THE WINDOW. AS SHOWN IN THE ATTACHED PICTURES. THE WINDOW JUST SHATTERED ON ITS OWN. WAS APPEARS THAT THIS WAS CAUSED BY THERMAL EXPANSION FROM THE HEATED DEFROSTER.

WAS IN PARKING LOT AND STARTED VEHICLE. PUT IN DRIVE AND STARTED TO MOVE. HEARD LOUD POP SOUND. STOPPED AND GOT OUT TO LOOK OVER VEHICLE. FOUND THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW HAD SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED. THERE WAS NO PREVIOUS DEFECT IN THE WINDOW. THE REAR WINDOW IS A THREE PART SLIDER WITH DEFROST. FORD SERVICE DOES NOT KNOW WHY THE WINDOW WOULD HAVE SHATTERED AND WILL NOT COVER COST OF REPLACEMENT. AT THIS TIME THE WINDOW HAS NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED. UNDERSTAND FORD HAS ISSUES WITH THIS HAPPENING AND WILL NOT COVER UNDER A POSSIBLE RECALL. IT MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE DEFROST SYSTEM IN WINDOW.

I HAVE 3 ISSUES TO REPORT: 1. THE OSS OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER 19S07 IN NOVEMBER 2018 I WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT I WENT TO GO WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED AND THE TRUCK FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL I TRIED TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THEN THE TRUCK SEEMED TO GO INTO GEAR AND SEEMED FINE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR ANYTHING 8 HOURS LATER ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK THE POWERTRAIN MALFUNCTION LIGHT CAME ON WRENCH LIGHT I STOPPED AND HAD IT CHECKED CODES 0720 AND 0722 CAME UP OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR I TOOK IT TO MY SHOP WHERE THEY GAVE ME THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN AND TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO A FORD SERVICE CENTER WHICH I DID THEY RAN ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC AND SAID THEY FOUND THE TRANSMISSION LEAD FRAME FAULTY AND CHARGED ME $1526.00 AND NOW I FIND OUT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. 2. TSB15-0061 WINDSHIELD WIPERS CONTINUE TO OPERATE IN LOW INTERMITTENT WHEN THE SWITCH IS IN THE OFF POSITION. INSTALLED NEW WIPER/MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH TWICE AND STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. 3. THE SAME TIME MY WIPERS STARTED ACTING UP MY HORN STOPPED WORKING BOTH WHEN YOU PUSH DOWN ON THE HORN SWITCH ON THE STEERING COLUMN AND WHEN YOU GO TO SET THE ALARM. I ASKED THE SERVICE MECHANICS ABOUT THIS AND I WAS TOLD IT COULD BE THE (BCM) BODY CONTROL MODULE FORD IS RECALLING SOME BCM IN FORD F150 BUT DOESNT SHOW UP WHEN I PUT MY VIN NUMBER IN.

IT WAS NOT UNTIL LATER IN THE DAY THAT I NOTICED THAT MY REAR RIGHT WINDOW WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. AFTER I LOOKED ONLINE, I REALIZED THAT THIS WAS A PERSISTENT AND COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS TRUCK (FORD F150). I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT AS THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM, THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BUT I COULD GET IT REPLACED FOR AROUND $700.00. WHY DOESN'T FORD FIX THIS ISSUE IF SO MANY TRUCKS OWNERS ARE SUFFERING.

THE ISSUE I HAVE WITH MY 2011 FORD F150 IS WITH THE BACK GLASS SHATTERING. MY TRUCK WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND I REMOTE STARTED THE TRUCK. WHEN I WENT OUT TO LEAVE THE BACK GLASS WAS SHATTERED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. NOTHING HIT THE GLASS AS IT WAS PARKED AND NOT IN MOTION ON THE DRIVEWAY. THE REAR DEFROST IS SET TO AUTO WHEN REMOTE STARTING SO THE BACK DEFROST WOULD OF COME ON WHEN I STARTED THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE WINDOWS HAVING FROST ON THEM. LOOKING ONLINE THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH FORD F150'S AND REMOTE START WITH AUTO DEFROST. LUCKLY NO ONE WAS IN THE TRUCK AS THIS COULD OF SERIOUSLY HURT SOMEONE WHEN THE GLASS SHATTERED.

ON MONDAY JANUARY 6TH I STARTED MY VEHICLE AND LET IT WARM UP THEN WHEN I TRIED TO PUT MY TRUCK INTO REVERSE AND WHEN I PUT THE SHIFT LEVER IN REVERSE THE ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION PRNDL DISPLAY DID NOT INDICATE THE LETTER R FOR REVERSE AND THE BACKUP LAMPS DID NOT OPERATE. AFTER THAT I TRIED EACH GEAR AND NONE OF THEM WERE WORKING SO I PUT IT INTO PARK AND THEN BACK INTO DRIVE IT SLAMMED INTO GEAR AND THEN I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE. THE DAY BEFORE I GOT INTO MY VEHICLE AFTER IT WARMED UP THEN PUT IT INTO PERVERSE AND IT DID NOT GO INTO REVERSE AT ALL OR DRIVE. AS A RESULT I TOOK IT TO MIDAS IN MY TOWN AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL ON MY VEHICLE DUE TO THE CODES AND BEHAVIOR SO THEY ADVISED ME TO TAKE IT TO FORD DEALERSHIP FOR IT TO BE FIXED FOR FREE. I DID SO AND I ASKED ABOUT A RECALL AND THEY REPORTED TO ME THAT THERE IS NO RECALL AND THEY WANT ME TO PAY FULL CHARGES THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT CAN BE TAKEN CARE OF BY THE DEALERSHIP AND I AM MISSING WORK AND OUT OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THIS DELAY AND I'M STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON MY VEHICLE THAT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.

SUDDEN AND RANDOM DOWNSHIFTING. WHILE IN DRIVE, THE TRANSMISSION WILL SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFT INTO A LOWER GEAR, COMPLETELY AT RANDOM. THIS CAUSES A MAJOR LURCH AND "JUMP" IN THE TRANSMISSION AND SPEED DECREASES GREATLY. HAPPENS AT HIGH AND LOW SPEEDS. DOES NOT SEEM TO BE INDUCED BY "HARD" DRIVING OR GENTLE DRIVING. CANNOT FORCE IT TO OCCUR. HAVE NOT TAKEN IT INTO DEALER TO BE CHECKED AS NO CODES (ENGINE LIGHT OR GEAR) APPEARS. THIS IS A KNOWN RECALL ISSUE FOR OTHER F150'S BUT MY TRUCK ISN'T COVERED, BUT IS DEFINITELY HAVING THE SAME ISSUES.

WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH ON A TWO LANE BLACK TOP ROAD THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW OF MY TRUCK SUDDENLY SHATTERED. IT WAS SHORTLY AFTER ACTIVATING THE REAR DEFROSTER THAT I HEARD A LOUD BANG AND AFTER LOOKING AROUND THE INTERIOR OF THE TRUCK REALIZED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE PANE OF GLASS IN MY 3 PIECE SLIDING REAR WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. WHEN I CHECKED THE WINDOW THERE WAS NO OBVIOUS SCUFFS OR HOLES INDICATING THAT SOMETHING HAD STRUCK THE WINDOW. ADDITIONALLY THERE IS A BED COVER OVER THE BED AREA WHICH WOULD RULE OUT SOMETHING FLYING UP OUT OF THE BED AND STRIKING THE WINDOW. ADDITIONAL DATA: * OUTSIDE TEMP APPROXIMATELY 36 DEGREES F * REAR WINDOW CLEAR OF FROST DEFROSTER ACTIVATED TO CLEAR DRIVER SIDE MIRROR * ROAD SURFACE SMOOTH AND SPEED 55 MPH AND TRAVELING STRAIGHT. * WINDOW DID NOT FALL FROM FRAME AND SHOWS A PRONOUNCE OUTWARD BOW.

THE FORD DEALERSHIP COULDN'T GET THE TRUCK TO REPEAT THE PROBLEM. THEY TALKED TO THE FORD REGIONAL MANAGER AND I WAS TO BRING THE TRUCK BACK WHEN THEY HAD A SERVICE REP AVAILABLE TO FULLY CHECK IT OUT. I CHOSE TO LEAVE THE TRUCK AT THE DEALERSHIP RATHER THAN RISK DRIVING IT. THE DEALERSHIP KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR ALMOST TWO WEEKS, SAID THEY DROVE IT 273 MILES AND COULDN'T GET THE PROBLEM TO REPEAT. AND IF THEY COULDN'T GET IT TO REPEAT THE PROBLEM THEY COULDN'T HELP. THE FORD REGIONAL MANAGER SAID THE SAME THING. I HAVE A LOT MORE NOTES BUT THEY PRETTY MUCH SAY THE SAME THING. CAN YOU HELP ME? THE NOISE HAS GOTTEN WORSE WHICH PROMPTED ME TO TAKE THE TRUCK BACK TO THE REPAIR SHOP TO DIAGNOSE AGAIN. THIS TIME I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE MATTER AND NOTICED THAT THERE WAS SOME CONCERN ABOUT THE VACUUM PUMP IN SOME OF THESE MODEL TRUCKS. UPON PICKING UP MY TRUCK THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED ME THAT HE THOUGHT IT WAS THE VACUUM PUMP AND THAT I SHOULD TAKE MY TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND THAT THE PART IS ONLY AVAILABLE THROUGH FORD AT THIS TIME. I MADE AND APPOINTMENT WITH THE FORD DEALERSHIP WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER ABOUT THE NOISE. HE WAS FAMILIAR WITH THE PROBLEM AND SAID THAT 9/10 TIMES THE VACUUM PUMP IS THE PROBLEM. HE EXPLAINED THAT FORD HAD SWITCHED VENDORS FOR THE PART AND REDESIGNED THE PUMP IN NEWER MODELS AND ISSUED A (TSB) REGARDING THE PUMP. SINCE MY TRUCK WAS JUST OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY PERIOD HE SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR, WHICH WAS QUOTED AT MORE THAN $900. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER UNTIL MID AUGUST 2015 AND THAT I SHOULD SCHEDULE TO HAVE THE REPAIR COMPLETED THEN. I ASKED IF THERE WAS A SAFETY HAZARD ASSOCIATED WITH CONTINUED DRIVING AND HE SAID, "NO, THE ONLY THING THAT COULD HAPPEN IS YOU COULD LOSE YOUR BRAKES OR POSSIBLY 4 WHEEL DRIVE, BUT YOU'LL NOTICE THAT THE BRAKES ARE HEAVY IF ITS GOING OUT COMPLETELY." I FEEL THAT FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PART THAT THEY ACKNOWLEDGE AS A PROBLEM AND HAVE REDESIGNED, AND WHICH CAN CAUSE BRAKE OR 4 WHEEL DRIVE FAILURE PUTTING MYSELF AND MY PASSENGERS AT RISK.

F-150 WITH ECOBOOST 3.5L GDTI ENGINE. ELECTRIC VACUUM PUMP THAT SUPPORTS THE BRAKE BOOSTER STOPPED FUNCTIONING. BRAKE PEDAL FEEL WAS HARD AND VEHICLE WAS DIFFICULT TO STOP AT TIMES. THERE WERE NO SIGNS OR INDICATORS OF THE MALFUNCTION, OTHER THAN THE HARD PEDAL FEEL WHICH CAME ON SLOWLY AND THEREFORE DIFFICULT TO NOTICE UNTIL VEHICLE WAS DIFFICULT TO STOP.

AT TIME THE VEHICLE RAPIDLY SLOWED, ENGINE LIGHT CAM ON, TRIED TO ADD THROTTLE TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY OF APPROACHING TRAFFIC BUT JUST CONTINUED TO SLOW. THIS HAPPENED WHILE TRAVELING FROM LAS VEGAS NEVADA TO RENO NEVADA. I REPLACED THE IGNITION COILS AND THAT SOLVED THE PROBLEM ONLY TO HAVE IT HAPPEN AGAIN IN LESS THAN 5K MILES IN THE SAME DRIVING CONDITIONS

EVER SINCE THE DAY I PURCHASED MY 2011 FORD F-150 IT HAS HAD AN EXTREMELY IRRITATING AS WELL AS DISTRACTING VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. VIBRATION IS MOST NOTICEABLE IN BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS AS WELL AS THE FLOOR. HAVE PUT 30K MILES ON IT, TRIED NEW TIRES, NUMEROUS TIRE ROTATION/BALANCES, EVEN REPLACED ROTORS. I TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROST ON MY 2011 FORD F-150 WITH 45,000 MILES ON IT AND THE R/H SIDE OF THE SLIDING REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. IT IS STILL IN ONE PIECE BUT THERE ARE SMALL GLASS FRAGMENTS OF GLASS ALL OVER THE BACK SEAT. I AM SURE GLAD MY GIRLFRIENDS GRANDSON WAS NOT PUT IN HIS CARSEAT BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. I STOPPED AT THE LOCAL FORD DEALER THEY TOOK PICTURES AND SUBMITTED IT OFF TO FORD. I GET A RESPONSE FROM THEM ON THE SAME DAY THAT FORD WILL ONLY COVER 50% OF REPLACEMENT COST. I SEE THEY ALREADY HAVE 2 SERVICE BULLETINS ON THIS BACK WINDOW AND SINCE THEY ARE OFFERING AND COVERING 50% THEY SEEM TO BE ADMITTING THEIR IS A PROBLEM. IT IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET THAT THIS IS HAPPENING FROM THE 2010'S ALL THE WAY UP TO 2014 F-150S. ITS A PROBLEM AND FORD IS NOT DOING TO MUCH ABOUT IT. SEEMS TO ME IT THIS SHOULD GO BACK TO WHO EVER MANUFACTURED THE GLASS. OTHER THEN WHAT FORD SAYS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE SOME OF THESE BACK WINDOWS ARE BLOWING RIGHT INTO THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. RECALL OR NOT THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.

WE DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD, HANG UP THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTED PHONE AND THE RADIO WILL BEGIN PLAYING AT FULL VOLUME AND THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS STOP WORKING, OR YOU WILL BE STARTING THE CAR UP AND THE AIR CONDITIONING WILL BE FULL BLAST OR YOU WILL START THE CAR AND YOU WONT HAVE ANY RADIO/CD PLAYER/ MEDIA CONTROLS WORKING AT ALL. MY FORD REP SAYS THAT FORD DOES NOT HAVE A FIX AND THEY DON'T EXPECT ONE UNTIL MAYBE THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2011.
